Amanda Verner Thompson
Biography

Amanda Verner Thompson is the founder of Madison Advisory Partners, a boutique healthcare M&A and capital advisory firm. She brings two decades of investment banking experience to advising healthcare services and behavioral health companies at their most consequential moments, including capital raises, sales, recapitalizations, and strategic transactions.

Over her career, Amanda has advised founders, operators, and boards across the healthcare landscape, with particular depth in behavioral health, including substance use disorder and mental health. Before founding Madison Advisory Partners, she held senior healthcare investment banking roles at Raymond James Healthcare Finance and its predecessor groups, Shattuck Hammond Partners and Morgan Keegan, and co-founded the healthcare practice at Matrix Capital Markets Group. Her work spans both for-profit and not-for-profit transactions, including multi-year advisory relationships across senior living and faith-based health systems.

What distinguishes Amanda's practice is a genuine conviction in behavioral health, not just as a market category but as a sector where ownership, capital structure, and strategic execution can materially shape outcomes. That conviction is also lived: she previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Roll Out PTSD, a nonprofit supporting veterans and others recovering from PTSD, and spent four years on the board of HealthCare Access Maryland. She is an active voice in the healthcare M&A community, sharing perspective on capital formation, founder transitions, and the future of behavioral health through her podcast and writing.

Amanda lives in Lakewood Ranch, Florida with her husband and daughter, and takes her pickleball more seriously than she'll admit.
